Best Rated Roomba Vacuums
This Roomba is classified as one of the best vacuums on the market. It has the strongest AI obstacle avoidance we’ve seen and also a mopping system with dual rubber brushes that are less prone to tangling than bristle ones.
It employs random (or bump) navigation rather than vSLAM, which can take longer to clean but ensures every room is adequately covered. It also has an impressive battery life and is effective on hardwood and carpet floors.
1. Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is finished in a stylish matte grey that appears like a piece of fabric. This reduces fingerprints. The smart mapping technology utilizes advanced sensors to create a map of your house that helps it clean up each rooms and avoid obstacles. You can also customize cleaning preferences in the iRobot Robot Vacuums: Effortless Cleaning for Any Home app, which gives suggestions based on your home and season (like running it more often during the season of allergy). The robot’s high efficiency filter will catch 99 percent of allergens, including dust mites, mold and fur of cats and dogs. It also comes with edge-sweeping and cliff sensors as well as four brushes (including two long, multi-surface brushes as well as one side brush) and floor trackers to keep the robot on its chosen path.
During our testing, the i3+ EVO cleaned our floors quickly and effectively. It effortlessly transitioned from carpet to rugs, and then back, and it didn’t have any issues crossing the metal or wood trim that separates different flooring types. It did hit some items, including handbags, pet toys and shoes, but was able to navigate around them. It missed some dirt spots on the carpet, but it did pick up pet hair elsewhere.
The i3+ EVO is a great choice for homes with carpeting but isn’t able to picking up crumbs and other debris. It is unable to vacuum pet hair from carpets and is not the best option for those looking to replace their conventional vacuum cleaner with robotic. Additionally, it isn’t equipped with the superior obstacle avoidance of the premium Roombas like the j7+ and s9+, which makes it more likely to run into pet waste and smear it across floors.
2. Roomba J7+
This is among the best robot vacuums for those who have a mix of hard floors and carpet. Its most notable feature is obstacle detection that smartly avoids things like furniture legs and even pet debris. It is also very good at cleaning hard floors and also picking up hairs that are stuck in the brush.
The Roomba J7+ is unlike other robots in that it is able to adjust its suction strength. This is done via the app. It also has an excellent map editor and a section to save your favorite maps. The j7+ is also very quiet, especially on the higher flooring options and it does a great job of keeping up with manual vacuuming.
iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) Robot Vacuum: Smart Wi-Fi Connected‘s top-end bots are well-known for their superior performance over their lower-end counterparts. In our tests the j7+ was able to collect more dirt on carpeted and hard surfaces than the 694 and cleaned up better in crevices. The only snag was that it performed less well in our longer human hair pickup test, which is a common problem with all robots.
The j7+ comes with a self-emptying Clean Base that automatically moves dirt from the robot’s bin to an enclosed dirt bag each time it docks. This helps reduce the need to be hands-on and is a great benefit for those suffering from allergies. The j7+ is also compatible with iRobot Braava Jet M Series robot mop through its Imprint Link feature. It will automatically resume mopping after the vacuuming has been completed.
3. Roomba i7+
The i7+’s ability to clean a room is a mesmerizing experience. It follows a logistical pattern, much like how a lawn care professional trims the field prior to a sporting event. Occasionally it will return to its dock to empty out its dust bin or recharge its batteries. Self-emptying is an improvement over the way most Robot Vacuum Mops vacuums work and reduces the need for hands-on maintenance.
It also has a large deal of suction power, pulling dirt and pet hair with ease. It can pick up the majority of dirt on high-pile carpets with just one sweep. It also can detect high-traffic areas and spend more time in those places. This is particularly useful if your children and pets bring in a lot of trash from the outdoors.
Another great feature is Smart Mapping, which allows the i7+ to learn the layout of your home and then create a customizable floor map while it vacuums. After four hours of testing, the i7+ was able navigate my two-bedroom apartment effectively and logically. You can further alter the map using the app by adding virtual boundaries and giving rooms names. This means you can set the i7+ to scrub around the cat’s litter box every morning, or stay clear of the sofa in the living area after everyone has gone to go to bed.
The i7+ comes with a sidebrush and a tangle-free spinning squeegee that are perfect for removing any debris that might otherwise fall to the ground. It also comes with batteries that have Recharge and Resume Technology that allows it to pick up the place it left off in an earlier cleaning session.
4. Roomba 694
The 694 is an excellent basic robot for anyone who wants to keep their home clean and without the advanced automation features that more expensive models offer. It learns your cleaning habits to suggest schedules, and works with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants, allowing you to begin cleaning with one click, and can be operated using the iRobot app.
Dual multi-surface brushes remove dirt from carpet and hard floors and the edge-sweeping one cleans edges and corners. The battery can last for 90 minutes and docks back to the Home Base when it runs out.
The top panel houses a large Clean/Power button in the middle, along with Home and Spot buttons below and above. The indicator for the battery level glows orange when charging, and turns green when the robot is powered up. The dustbin slot is at the back and releases with a press of a button.
The Roomba 694 is a fantastic job of navigating bare floors and also sucks up large particles such as cereal and rice however it has trouble with small particles like baking soda, and can overflow the dirt compartment when it fills up. It also doesn’t perform better on carpets with low pile however it does get higher scores than other robot vacuums that are priced in this range.
It is very effective at cleaning hairs from pets. However, some hairs might get caught on the side brush. The poor performance of the 694 on cat litter is a source of concern, even though it scored the same as the other robots in this class. It topped our top pick (the Roborock S4 Max), by 19 points. The 694 costs a little more than the RoboVac 30C but feels more robust, requires less maintenance, has a lower cost of operation, charges more quickly, and performs better on floors with a high pile and bare. It also has a bigger dustbin, and it can be used with or without an internet connection.
5. Eufy 11s
The eufy11s is among the most affordable robot vacuums that are available. It’s also a good choice if you want a simple and reliable machine. This model is able to clean dust, pet hair and other particles on hard and low-pile floors. It also has a decent job of moving around obstacles and furniture. Its slim design is perfect for navigating under low-clearance couches, coffee tables, and other furniture, and it’s one of the quietest robovacs we’ve tested.
This is the most basic model we’ve seen. It isn’t equipped with features found in more expensive models. It doesn’t have an app so you’ll need to manually set the schedule by using the remote control. It does not have an indicator for battery level or a dust bin alert. You’ll need manually empty the dustbin when necessary.
This model is extremely well built and easy to maintain, despite its cost. It has a long battery lifespan, and it is able to perform well on flat floors and around obstacles. In our tests it was able to climb over low-lying obstacles like electrical cords with greater ease than the Roomba 694 or Shark Ion robots, but it had issues with carpets with high piles.
The eufy is a better option than the ONSON GOOVI, however we suggest a higher-end model If you’re able to afford it. The iRobot Roomba 694 has a longer battery life, is more simple to maintain, and has a lower recurring cost. It is also better at cleaning bare floors as well as moving around furniture. It also has a larger dustbin.
