Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

If you want a basic robot vacuum without the smart features of other models, this is a great option. It does a great job of removing pet hair, cat litter, and Cheerios on hardwood floors. It even sucked up sand in my tests.

It’s fast and precise in the mapping room, and it avoids obstacles well. It can be controlled manually using the remote included.

1. Roomba iRobot s9+

The s9+ robotic vacuum is the best we’ve ever tested to clean hard floors and carpets. It has the strongest suction power of any robot vacuum cleaner on the market. It also does an excellent job in getting rid of pet hair. It can be programmed to do multiple passes or adjust suction levels based on the size of the room, something that we haven’t seen on other models. The app lets you alter how it works and even select the time it will start working, so that you can be in the room while it’s working.

Smart mapping creates a detailed home map that can assist the S9+ in navigating efficiently and determine routes. It’s also self-emptying, meaning it does not require any intervention on your part while cleaning and can return to its original location and recharge mid-clean (though it’s possible to hear it return to its dock as it gets settled the sound, which sounds like jet engine takeoff). In our tests, the s9+ maneuvered over obstacles such as tables and power cables with ease and never lost its charge or became stuck. It does not have the hazard-avoidance features of recent models, and it can get stuck on rug tassels or other obstructions it is unable to see.

Unlike most circular robots, the s9+ has a flat front and has a squared front that helps it get to corners faster than models with rounded fronts. It’s also quieter than our previous irobot floor cleaner robot and smaller than the Neato Botvac D7. Its price tag isn’t cheap, but it’s a good value considering how well it performs and the fact that you won’t have to worry about emptying the trash following the use. Plus, it’s often on sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The j7+ is one of the most intelligent robot cleaners on the market. It comes with iRobot Genius Technology, which lets it detect obstacles and maneuver around them. This means you don’t have to be concerned about the robot hitting furniture or walls. It slows down when it gets closer to an object to gently scrub the edges. This is particularly beneficial for pets with small sizes who leave their messes behind.

The j7+ is also able to mop and vacuum due to a mopsitter. If it detects that you’re standing on a surface that requires mopping, it switches from the normal cleaning mode and deploys an arm that is a tiny robot with an attached pad. It mops the floor with a light-touch that left my floors looking and feeling as if they’d been meticulously cleaned.

The j7+ recharges itself when it is done cleaning. It then drives back to where it started and resumes its cleaning. It usually runs for 85 minutes, give or take in my home before needing to return to the dock to recharge. It’s not as impressive as the s9+ but still impressive for a device which can vacuum and mop.

The j7+, like other iRobot vacuum cleaners, evades obstacles and detects them. It also has what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which keeps it from taking a tumble down the stairs. It’s a great safety feature for families with kids.

The j7+ comes with an onboard bin that is small which means that it will have to go back to the dock and empty itself often if you live in an enormous home. The j7+ can be stored easily. The all-in-one Clean Base comes with an external charging dock and also an external dustbin, and an internal bin in which the j7+ can store dirt.

3. Shark iQ

This robot vacuums carpets and hard surfaces simultaneously. Matrix Clean Navigation is also included, which utilizes a grid matrix to cover the entire home. The vacuum automatically emptys itself after each run. It is also possible to see the battery status and actual life of the vacuum by looking at two light bulbs on top. Press the button to unlock the bin and empty it. It holds up to a week’s worth of trash, and the procedure is easy enough to do from any place in the house.

This model is impressive on plain floors, but is a struggle on low-pile flooring. It also struggles to hold large amounts of debris when the dirt compartment gets filled. However, it is sturdily built and has a long battery life, which you can extend using the eco-friendly ‘Eco’ mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible both with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which means you can control it by speaking. The app lets you choose the name of your robot (mine’s Sharky Shark), schedule and remotely activate its runs, look up your cleaning history, and receive alerts about errors. You can also create a map of your home and create zones that are off limits manually.

The Shark iQ is more expensive than the iRobot Roomba j7+, however it comes with more features for mapping and apps and superior cleaning performance on all surface types. It also charges faster and is less frequently caught on tassels of rug, which reduces recurring costs. Unfortunately, this model can’t be kept away from areas that have furniture or pet bowls, and you’ll need physical boundary strips to keep it out of certain objects.

4. iRobot Roomba 694″

With a sleek, premium design that will complement your home decor The Roomba 694 is a great robot vacuum for those looking for an easy-to-use set it and forget it device. It will learn your habits for cleaning and create a customized schedule. It also integrates with Google Assistant and Alexa voice assistants so you can start cleaning your home by simply speaking. A full suite of sensors allows it to navigate the natural obtacles that surround your home while cleaning. A smart bumper cushioned the impact when it bumps into furniture legs or walls. Four “cliff” sensors on the sides and front alert it when it’s nearing an edge, such as the stairs or a balcony, and it’s also able to reverse.

This model is an excellent option for the robot vacuums that cost less than $300 category. It features a three stage cleaning system and dual multi-surface brushes to help remove dirt from carpeted and hard floors and edges, while an edge-sweeping brush takes care of edges and corners. The robot vacuum has several features that make it convenient including Dirt Detect which spends more time on heavily soiled areas. It can be programmed to clean at certain time intervals and also has an app that allows remote control.

The iRobot Roomba i7+ (7550) Robot Vacuum: Smart Wi-Fi Connected (www.robotvacuummops.com) Roomba is not as technologically advanced but it is not as advanced as the i7. It does not come with a mapping feature or the capability to create virtual boundaries. It’s more durable and has lower recurring costs than eufy RoboVac G30. It also has a bigger dust bin and charges faster.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s robot vacuum is a small and appealing machine that provides a excellent value for money. It comes with a large dirt container and can run for long periods of time, and is excellent in taking out pet hair. However, it’s difficult to maintain and has issues with navigation. It does not have voice control or a companion app, however, it has a simple use remote. It doesn’t even send you a notification when the dust container is full, so you’ll need to check it regularly.

The eufy has many advantages over the Bobsweep Bob Pro however, in certain areas, it’s not as effective as the iRobot Roomba 694. The iRobot is better-built, uses less parts that require regular maintenance, comes with a HEPA filter and can last longer on a single charge and offers better performance on floors that are bare and carpets that have high and low piles. It also comes with a more advanced navigation system that can navigate through obstacles, and includes advanced automation features such as boundary stripes.

The iRobot Roomba 900 Series is an ideal choice for the majority of users, even although the eufy remains an excellent choice. The iRobot is more durable, easier to maintain, has a larger dustbin, and provides better performance on all surface types. It is also more efficient to recharge and has longer battery life.

The eufy is superior to the ILIFE A4s but not as effective as high-end robots like the Roborock S7 maxV Ultra. The iRobot is better-built and has a larger dust bin and has lower cost-per-use. It also has a more advanced automation feature including boundary lines, and a navigation algorithm that is more intelligent. The iRobot also sucks up pet hair more effectively, and is easier to maintain than the eufy.
