The Best Twin Buggy
Designed to grow with your family This inline double comes with multiple seating configurations and can work for twins or children of various ages. Its foam-filled rubber tires don’t flatten out and its soft suspension makes light work of the kerbs.
It folds up super-flat and satisfies the weight requirements for gate-checks at airports which makes it easy to carry. It also comes with a large under-seat storage basket, and a four-panel sun canopy.
Leclerc Influencer
With its sleek design, auto-fold and cabin approved dimensions the Leclerc Influencer is an excellent alternative for those who fly. Its folded (and unfolded) width is 47cm which is slightly more than the IATA standard of 45cm but it still complies with the regulations of hand luggage for airlines and can be stored in overhead lockers on flights (Subject to Airline Approval). It was easy to clean using a simple wipe down and there were a variety of additional items available such as nappy bags, footmuffs and buggy organiser bags that strap to the handles and hoods offering UV50+ protection.
It’s easy to move up and down stairs and can be squeezed into tight spaces like narrow alleyways, shops and Jane’s terrace home. The bumper bar also doubles as a handle. There’s also a large brake that’s flip-flop friendly and has a color indicator. The basket is smaller than the other models, but it will still accommodate a huge changing bag. There are additional trays to store snacks, drinks and toys.
It is suitable from birth. The adaptors are available separately to pair it with an Leclerc Baby Carrycot. For older children, there’s a backrest that flattens to make it perfect for nap times or extended walks and the smart 5-point harness with magnets is simple to use. It’s also extremely light, weighing just 6.6kg. A travel bag is also included.
Joie Evalite Duo
The British brand Joie is on a mission to “share happiness with parents who are expecting” by designing pushchairs that are “functional, stylish and innovative”. The Evalite Duo, their latest twin buggy, is the brand’s most recent offering. It’s designed to accommodate two children at a time, unlike the slightly heavier Aire Twin. It also has stadium-style seating that lets both children see the world at once.
At just over 10kg, the Evalite Duo is one of the lightest sibling strollers available. It is suitable from birth and is compatible with Joie car seats or carrycots (with the Instant Sure Lock attachment). It’s easy to fold and lift, drive and ride. The clever frame can be expanded to accommodate a second child seat.
Out ‘n’ About say the one-handed fold is a major feature of the Evalite Duo, and they were amazed by how fast and easily it comes together. They did note that it was more difficult to navigate bumps and rough surfaces as compared to other models.
The front seat doesn’t fully recline, and parents were forced to use their own hands to lower it. This is something they’d prefer to avoid when traveling with young children. The Evalite Duo, however, is a fantastic stroller that can be made even better by a few tweaks. And they love that it’s so small and compact when folded!
iCandy Peach
iCandy Peach, a sophisticated tandem buggy, gives parents the variety they need. It’s compatible with a range of car seats and features a an easy-to-fold system that folds in one click and fold, making it ideal for families who are on the move. It also comes with plenty of accessories that other brands are charging separately for like liners and rain covers.
iCandy’s Peach pushchair is a popular choice for parents who are fashion-conscious due to its stylish and contemporary premium jersey fabrics. The 2022 version of the Peach has been upgraded with minor tweaks to increase efficiency and performance without sacrificing style.
The addition of a ride-on board makes this the ideal option for twins. It is also a little more compact than older Peach model, but it still offers all the space your child could need.
It’s the perfect double stroller for parents who need something that looks stylish and offers a lot of flexibility. It can be used from birth as a single stroller, and then purchase a double kit to allow it to become a twin buggy. It also has a huge basket and five reclining positions to provide maximum comfort for your children. It also comes with an integrated carry strap and a one-handed folding mechanism. The only downside is that it can be somewhat heavy to store when you aren’t using it in particular since it folds into two parts instead of one.
iCandy Orange
This is the top twin buggy on the market. The seats are comfortable and come with liners or luxury footmuffs that will keep your little ones cosy in cold weather. The carrycot slots onto the Orange chassis easily with gates that open and is spacious and comfortable. Orange chassis can accommodate 30 combinations of the seat and carrycot.
The wheels are built to take on rough surfaces and pavements. There is also a large shopping basket that’s ideal for supermarkets with large sizes. The pushchair is light and easy to drive. The circular pedal brake makes it easy to use, but not for flip-flops. It’s not the easiest to fold, and the latch that holds it folded needs two hands to unlock. When it’s collapsed, the front wheels tuck under the basket, and the chassis is free to stand.
The Orange is ideal for parents who are fashion-conscious and have children or toddlers and want a stroller that will be able to adapt to them. It’s also a great option for parents who are expecting a second child in the not-too-distant future and want a movable double to single buggy pushchair. The iCandy Orange is not cheap but it’s flexible enough that it’s likely to last several years and will have a good resale value too. It can also be fitted with a buggy, which should reduce the amount of siblings fighting over seats.
Mountain Buggy Duet
Founded by an Australian, Mountain Buggy (part of the Mokopuna group that also owns Phil and Teds and Baby Jogger) is the first brand of prams to focus on all-terrain double pushchairs. The Duet twin stroller can be easily maneuvered in narrow aisles for shopping and through the doors. It is among the most compact and full-featured double to single buggy buggies that are available and has been awarded numerous awards including Mother & Baby Twin Gold in 2014 and Prima Baby Twin Silver in 2015.
Its narrow seats are spacious enough for children of various age groups to comfortably sit together, and the seats are reclineable so kids can choose their preferred position. The large canopy is equipped with flip-out sun visors and the storage basket offers plenty of space. It accepts two infant car seats with the purchase of car seat adapters and is compatible with almost all brands that are available, which is a huge plus.
The only downside is the weight. At 32.4 lbs, it is heavy to lift into and out of the trunk and might be difficult for Grandma to manage. And, it is more expensive than the majority of side-by-side double buggies. It is built to last, and has a lot of options for the price. It is a good choice for parents in urban areas who want to avoid lugging a heavy stroller around. The padded harnesses, 5-point buckle and straps with padding ensure safety for babies.
Bugaboo Donkey Twin
The Bugaboo Donkey Twin is a elegant, functional buggy that has an elegant design. It’s a premium product, but it’s not without its faults.
For one, it offers very little in terms of extra features for the kids and the parents. There’s a tiny side bin in the seat that’s only usable when one seat is attached and that’s the only thing it offers. There aren’t any parent tray cup holders, cups, or accessory pockets and this could pose a problem when you travel for a long time.
The seats aren’t able to recline to a very flat position and the gap between them is quite wide, so our 5-year-old had trouble lying back with ease. This is a shame since it’s a top-of-the-line model.
On the positive side, it’s easy to maneuver and the swivel wheels are great for climbing up slopes and steps. It is also narrow enough to fit in most doorways and folds up easily for easy storage and transport. Plus, it can be converted back to mono mode in just three clicks should you ever require more space or need to get away. It can even accommodate a third kid with the comfort wheeled board if you need to. It is expensive though so if you’re on a budget there are other options available there. It’s worth it in the event that you’re a huge fan of the brand and have the money to spend.
