The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

For pets that shed fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is one of the best floor cleaning solutions. This machine can vacuum and mop and even clean and dry its own mop pads.

It also has the greatest suction power of any robot we’ve tested, at 8,800Pa. It can also organize cleaning schedules and save your house’s maps using its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual laser LiDAR, which is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area up to 32 feet across by 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also features a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mops. In my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as create an “Zambani pattern” that ran up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin, and clean the mop with hot water, before starting another task of cleaning.

The X2 Omni is as simple to use and set up as other Ecovacs products. Place the dock in its place, plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It takes just a few minutes. After that, you can start the app and start with your first task of cleaning. I was able dive into the settings and modify my floor plan in less than 15 minutes, which included creating zones that are restricted to sweep and mop as well as reworking my wall-mounted furniture layouts, and much more. The X2 Omni performed admirably in my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal, and also achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The ECOVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful mopping and vacuum cleaner. It is the most advanced model of the brand’s T-line, and features a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that utilizes dual-spinning brushes to provide better cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also has YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing technology that lets it respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it’s unable to switch from mopping and vacuuming in one run. The two modes require that you attach and remove mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes, but isn’t an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.

The Deebot T10 is a fantastic robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to remove more than 96% of debris from our hardwood flooring. This is an excellent performance. It did a great job on carpets and tiles and removed 99% of dirt.

This robot mop and vacuum comes with an enormous docking station which offers cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L disposable bag that’s simple to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray that is built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads while using them. But it doesn’t use a removable tray, which means dirty water, dust and other grime build up on the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker’s Eufy is well known in the world of robot vacuums but this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It is equipped with enhanced intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the surface you are cleaning. It’s a mid-range robotic cleaner that’s appealing even if the promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not come true.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular form, sweeper wheels and an elevated sensor area. Flip it over, however, and you’ll find an electric floor brush as well as one side sweeper brush that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot’s ‘mouth’. It’s a bit smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to fit under sofas and chairs.

The mapping system is quite sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting things such as its charging station, and isn’t very good at climbing over carpets. It did a good job of picking up pet hair on bare floors However, during our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter, which puts it ahead of all but the strongest robots we’ve examined.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has physical buttons located at the base of the. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn the robot on/off. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and see real-time maps. It’s a little chatty, and will inform you of what it’s going to do next (“start cleaning”) or even warn you that something is wrong (it isn’t able to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This model is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It also has an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes and a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The device that is Wi-Fi-connected can be controlled best through the Neato App where cleaning schedules are set and maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great choice for large homes that have a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting caught on toys, power cables, or other unexpected obstructions.

The robot performed well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It picked up everything, from one rice grain to a variety of dog food pieces with only one sweep. It did have some issues with rugs however, generally speaking the vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms with both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

It is a bit pricey but if you’re able to manage the price, this is a great option for those who wish to be able to leave their homes completely free to perform other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto cleaning mode that increases suction power to deal with tough dirt and spills, and it comes with batteries that power the ElectroWall that allows you to define boundaries where the robot is not allowed to access.

This budget-friendly robot from a renowned brand is the cheapest we’ve ever tested, and provides exceptional value for money. The basic navigation system employs a super-basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it’s still able navigate under furniture and into corners, and its mopping mode was very effective during our tests and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark’s iQ isn’t as robust as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and floors that are not covered. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It also lets you send it to a specific area, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It even lets you pause and resume a cleaning session which is ideal for homes with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll eliminates tangles and can hold up to 30 days of dirt. It has a set of side brushes that are angled to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system to capture dust, allergens, and dander.

The iQ robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It has a smartphone application that allows you to change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions in advance. The app also allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during its cleaning cycle. You can also control it using Upgrade Your Cleaning Game with Roborock Q7 voice with an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don’t own either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary markers strips.

The iQ can do a decent job of removing bare flooring and doing a good job with shaggy and low-pile carpet however it lacks the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It’s also expensive and the recurring expenses can add up over time.
