Lightest Double Stroller
If you’re looking for a light double-stroller that folds, the size and weight are important factors to consider. Selecting a stroller that is easy to handle and compact when not in use will make it easier to put in the trunk of your car and maneuver through airport security and other foreign streets.
The most lightweight strollers feature a simple, easy fold that lets them stand up on their own. This reduces stress on the parent’s body. Many strollers have different seating options and some can even accommodate infant car seats.
Kolcraft Cloud Plus
Created for families that are on the move. Lightweight, with a simple one-hand compact fold. All-terrain wheels, front suspension and multi-position reclining seats can will accommodate children as heavy as 50 lbs. The tray for parents and children and a large storage basket and a three-tiered canopy that has a the peekaboo window offer maximum sun protection.
The Cloud received one of the lowest scores in our quality tests due to its flimsy design with hard plastic seats, and a design that is outdated. It is also more expensive than other strollers that are lighter. This is a bad option for those seeking a budget option.
Although it’s not the tiniest double stroller, it has enough features worth a look. The swiveling wheels make it easy for you to maneuver it on flat surfaces. It can also leap over curbs with ease. The low handle of the Cloud is a drawback however, as it’s at knee height, and not adjustable. It’s difficult to push while your legs are dangling like that. The lack of padding doesn’t make it any easier.
During our tests, we found the Cloud to be simple to open and set up. It’s a little more challenging to close the cloud, however. You must slide a slider before you pull a big white button for it to collapse. This can be a hassle, especially if you’re juggling kids while doing it.
The Cloud comes with a tiny but spacious storage basket. It’s large enough to accommodate an enormous diaper bag. The basket is a bit small and you might have to leave something in there to reach the back. The Cloud comes with two tray for parents and a child tray, each with two cup holders. But both are too small for larger bottles or cups.
The Kolcraft brand has been in existence since 1946 and is a third-generation family-owned business. The first products they made were crib pads and diapers however, they now make a wide range of baby products like highchairs, infant car seats, strollers and toys. The company is located in Chicago and is an American manufacturer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS
Jeep Destination Ultralight is a lightweight double stroller with a minimalist design, which is perfect for traveling. It weighs only 18 lbs which is less than some single strollers. and can fold flat for easy transport and storage. It also has independently reclined seats, large all-weather SPF 50 sun visors with large windows with peekaboos and under-seat storage bags. The visors can be adjusted to accommodate kids of different heights. It also has an integrated one-step parking brake that is Disney-sized approved.
The swivel wheels of the Jeep are also great for maneuvering over bumps and uneven surfaces. However, this stroller doesn’t accept car seats and therefore your children must be six months old and have solid neck control in order to ride in the front seat. The twin stroller with car seats does have an umbrella sun canopy with three panels and each seat comes with a cupholder and snack tray.
Another incredibly lightweight side-by-side stroller is the Valco Baby Snap Duo Trend. It’s heavier than Kolcraft Cloud Plus, at 23 lbs. However, it’s narrower and thinner (26.5 inches wide!) It’s got a lot of elegant details that make it perfect for travel. It folds easily and very easy to move around. It also fits easily in overhead compartments as well as the trunks of planes.
Similar to the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double and Mountain Buggy Nano Duo, the Joovy Kooper X2 is another tri-fold, ultralight double Buggy newborn (thinktoy.net) stroller. It’s quite similar to the Jeep Destination Ultralight SBS, however, it does have some distinct differences. It’s also a bit more expensive, but it also has more maneuverability and a larger sun canopy. It comes with a convenient strap for carrying and can hold children weighing up to 44 pounds for each seat.
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+
Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ is a lightweight stroller with lots of features. It’s not just light at 13 pounds, but it comes with plenty of storage in the form of parent and child cup holders, a child sippy-cup pocket, a parent storage pocket and much more. This stroller is also compatible with a child’s car seat and features a flip-flop-friendly brake that is easily engaged. This stroller is designed to expand as your child grows. It can be transformed from a baby stroller into a toddler stroller simply by attaching car seat adapters (sold separately) and is suitable for children ages 6 months and older.
Another thing to note about this stroller is that it only has swivel wheels and doesn’t have locking capabilities therefore it may not be the best choice for rocky or sloping terrain. It maneuvers well on pavements, as well as other smooth surfaces, however it’s a great choice for most families.
This is one of the lightest and compact double strollers that comes with full-size features. It folds in one hand and stored in the garage or trunk. It can also be used as a stoller for travel and is compatible without adapters for most car seats.
Contrary to the majority of lightweight strollers like the Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ features two seats that can carry up to 50 pounds per seat (100 lb total). The seats have individual leg rests and 3-panel canopies that include an open-top sunvisor and a peekaboo window.
The seats are cushioned to ensure your child’s comfort. They also have a five-point safety harness that can be adjusted to three different height positions. Each seat comes with an infant cushion that is perfect for babies. Parents will appreciate the parent and child cup holders, cell phone holder, and large storage basket. The twin stroller with car seats comes with the Yoyo+ Board which transforms it into a tandem.
Joovy Kooper X2
The Kooper X2 is an excellent choice for parents who want a lightweight double stroller that can carry two children. The sling-style seats are comfy and provide a similar amount of headroom. It also allows children to be seated side-by-side. Contrary to other strollers with side-by-side seating this one Kooper X2 offers a fully reclined seat, which is a great option for napping. Its recline feature is simple to use, however it’s not a perfect flat. Children who are taller may have legs hanging out when in reclined mode. It also features a large canopy which we found to be better at blocking out the sun than other strollers in our top double strollers review.
The stroller is lightweight enough to be able to navigate through door frames. This was an important issue with other models we tried. It folds up quickly and its handlebars sit close to the ground, making it easy transport. The only issue is its limited storage space. When it is full of stuff for the kids, it feels squeezed.

This includes the ease of use to fold and set up, how easy it is to adjust the safety harness and how to open and close the brakes. We also lift and carry the strollers folded as if they were placed in a trunk and how to put in and remove a baby car seat if needed. We’ve also assessed the strength and durability of each model, as well as whether it has a tray for parents that can accommodate both child tray.
The Joovy Kooper X2 earned the top score for its ease of use in our most recent update of the best double strollers guide, and also one of the top scores in our Strollers test program overall. Its user-friendly design comes with one hand, with non-tilt recline and an enormous canopy with ventilation mesh that you can see through even when it’s tilted. There are also separate child trays, built-in cupholders and zipper pockets for parents and a large storage basket.
