Best Roomba Vacuum Cleaner

If you’re looking for an unassuming robot vacuum that doesn’t have the advanced features of other models, this is a great option. It does an excellent job of picking up pet hair, cat litter, and Cheerios on hardwood floors. It even sucked up sand in my tests.

It is fast and accurate in the mapping room, and it does a great job of avoiding obstacles. It can also be manually controlled by using the remote included.

1. Roomba from iRobot

The s9+ is the most effective robot vacuum we’ve tested cleaning both hard floors and carpeting. It has some of the strongest suction of any robotic cleaner on the market, and is a great choice for getting rid of pet hair. It can be programmed to do multiple passes or adjust suction levels depending on the size of the room, something that we haven’t seen on other models. Its app lets you modify the way it operates and decide when it begins working, so you can stay in the room as it’s working.

Smart mapping generates a precise home map that can aid the S9+ to navigate efficiently and determine routes. It also self-empties so you don’t need to be present to assist. It also recharges itself in mid-clean. The s9+ was able to move around obstacles like tables and power cables with any difficulty. It never lost charge and never got stuck. It doesn’t have the safety features of the latest models, and it can get stuck on rug tassels or other obstacles it isn’t able to see.

In contrast to most circular robots the s9+ has a flat front and has an unsquared front, which helps it to get into corners more easily than models with rounded fronts. It’s also quieter than the previous iRobot model we test and is less bulky than the Neato Botvac D7. It’s not cheap, but you get a lot for your money when you consider how well it works and you don’t need to worry about emptying the trash bin afterwards. It’s often offered for sale at Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The j7+ is one of the most advanced robot cleaners available. It’s equipped with iRobot Genius technology that gives it the ability to recognize obstacles and move around them, meaning that you don’t have to worry about it smashing into walls or furniture. It also slows down when it comes close to an object, so that it can gently clean edges. This is particularly beneficial when you have pets that are small who leave their mess behind.

Another excellent aspect of the j7+ is that it can mop and vacuum using a specially designed mopsitter. When it notices that you’re standing on a surface that needs to be cleaned it switches to the normal cleaning mode and activates an arm that is a tiny robot with a pad attached. It mops the floor with an eerily-smooth motion that left my floors looking and feeling like they’d been properly cleaned.

The J7+ recharges itself once it has finished cleaning. It then drives back to the point where it left off and continues cleaning. It usually runs for around 85 minutes, or more or less in my house, before returning to the dock to recharge. That’s less than the s9+, however it’s still impressive for a robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The j7+, just like other irobot roomba combo vacuum cleaners, evades obstacles and recognizes them. It also has what iRobot calls Cliff Detect technology, which keeps it from falling down the stairs. It’s an excellent safety feature for families.

The j7+ has an extremely small onboard bin and will require to go back to the dock and empty itself often if you have an enormous home. The j7+ can be stored easily. The Clean Base that comes with it acts as a charging dock, a separate dust bin, and an internal one for the j7+ to put dirt into.

3. Shark iQ

This robot can vacuum carpets and hard surfaces at the same time. Matrix Clean Navigation is also included, which makes use of a grid matrix to cover your entire home. The vacuum is empty after each run, and you can see its current battery life and status with a pair of lights on top. To empty the dirt receptacle just push a button that removes the bin. It holds up to a week’s worth trash, and the process is simple enough to be done from anywhere in the house.

The model is stunning on floors that are clean, but it struggles on low-pile flooring. It also has a difficult time to collect large debris as the dirt compartment fills. It is nevertheless well constructed and has a long battery life that you can extend with the eco-friendly ‘Eco’ mode.

The Shark IQ is compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and allows you to control it using your voice. The app lets you name your robot (mine’s Sharky Shark), schedule and remotely start its runs, view your cleaning history, and get alerts for errors. You can also create an outline of your home and set up zones that are off limits manually.

The Shark iQ costs more than the iRobot Roomba j7+ but it has superior app features and mapping and also superior performance on all surfaces. It also charges more quickly and gets stuck on rug tassels fewer frequently, which decreases the cost of recurring repairs. However, this model is unable to stay away from areas with pet bowls or furniture, and you’ll need physical boundary strips to keep it away from specific objects.

4. iRobot Roomba 694″

With sleek, elegant design that is a perfect match for your home’s decor The Roomba 694 is a fantastic robot vacuum for those looking for an easy to use set it and forget it. It identifies your habits for cleaning to offer up personalized schedules and can be used with Google Assistant or Alexa voice assistants to let you start a clean with just the sound of your voice. It utilizes a variety of sensors to navigate the obstacles in your home. A smart bumper softens the impact of hitting furniture legs or walls, while four “cliff” sensors on the front and sides let it know when it’s approaching a dropoff like the stairs or balcony and it can move back from the edge.

This model is an excellent choice in the robot vacuums that cost less than $300 category. It has a three-stage cleaning system as well as dual multi-surface brushes to help remove dirt from carpeted and hard floors and an edge-sweeping tool takes care of edges and corners. This vacuum comes with several features that make it convenient including Dirt Detect which spends more time on areas that are heavily soiled. It can be programmed to clean at specified intervals of time and has a remote control app.

The iRobot Roomba 694 is not as advanced as the i7 one, which is able to self-empty its own trash compartment and doesn’t come with a mapping system or the ability to create virtual boundary markers. It is, however, more durable and has lower recurring costs than the less expensive RoboVac G30, has a bigger dust bin, is charged faster, and can navigate around obstacles such as electrical cords better and performs better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet as compared to the iRobot Roomba 614.

5. Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s robot vacuum is a compact and attractive machine that offers a good value for the price. It has a large dirt bin and can run for long periods of time, and is excellent in sucking up pet hair. It’s hard to maintain and navigate, which is a problem. It doesn’t come with voice control or a companion app however, it has a simple use remote. It doesn’t inform you when the trash bin is full. You’ll need to check it frequently.

The eufy has a number of advantages over the Bobsweep Bob Pro however, in some areas it is not as effective as the iRobot Roomba 694. The iRobot is more durable, has less parts that require regular maintenance, features a HEPA filter that is longer lasting on a single charge, and offers better performance on carpeted floors as well as carpets with high and low piles. It also has a smarter navigation system that is able to maneuver around obstacles and has more advanced automation features, such as boundary strips.

The iRobot Roomba 900 Series is a better choice for most users, although the eufy remains an excellent choice. The iRobot is better built, simpler to maintain, has a bigger dustbin, and offers better performance on all surfaces types. It is also faster to charge and has longer battery life.

The eufy is also an excellent alternative to the ILIFE A4s, however it’s not as good as a premium robot like the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The iRobot is built better, has a more robust design and a bigger dust bin, and has fewer ongoing costs. It also comes with more advanced automation capability, such as boundary stripes, and a navigation algorithm that is more intelligent. The iRobot is also more Efficient Cleaning: IRobot Roomba Combo j5 – 2-in-1 Smart Vacuum at taking in pet hair and is easier to maintain than eufy.
