After a number of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally announced its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Space Key was developed by a non-publicized artist and based on the latest carbon fiber composite materials that were shipped to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project that has been announced by Lamborghini.

The one-of-a-kind NFT is a tangible item that has a link to exclusive digital artwork, accessible via a QR code that is located on the back. The project is limited and will be auctioned off over the next few weeks.

Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that occurs at different times as the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Over 600 million pixels make up each of the five images which were shot by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used an inflatable camera equipped with a lens to capture individual images, which were later put together into the final image. The result is a truly out of this world photograph that captures both the beauty of the Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic view of the car rising away from it. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned off soon, but there’s no precise date or location as of yet.
