1. Smeg BCC02
This sleek, compact, and striking machine, created by Milan-based company Deep Design combines the brand’s retro aesthetic with the latest technology. It is able to handle every step of the coffee-making process – from grinding beans and shaping the beans into a puck to making milk into a texturing process and dispenses the correct amount of coffee – meaning you can create barista-quality hot drinks by pressing one button.
The machine is also available in red, black or taupe. It is a great integrate into any kitchen design. There are some flaws, however: most users found it to be a bit expensive for a bean-to-cup maker. cup maker (and it’s not equipped with an insulated milk pitcher).
There were also many glowing reviews of the quality of the coffee as well as the ease of using this machine. The digital display is intuitive and provides an easy-to-follow guideline and feedback throughout the entire making process, allowing you to improve your coffee every time. It even allows you to adjust the size of the grind if it’s not enough. It’s like having a personal barista in your own home (minus Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak and Elon Musk’s rocket-building skills).
This model is ideal for those who enjoy milky drinks. The steam wand is adjustable up and down to fit a variety of drinking vessels, except Viking drinking horns. We were impressed with the speed and efficiency of the frothing procedure, too. It creates an amazing, full-flavoured espresso with a great crema.
The BCC02 is a fantastic all-rounder, quiet and efficient and provides excellent value for money at its current price of PS499. The only drawback is that it doesn’t provide the same degree of customization as some of the other bean-to-cups we’ve evaluated. It comes with a 15 bar pump rather than the more typical 19 bars which isn’t as effective for making high-quality espressos. But other than that it’s a fantastic bean to cup machine for those who like their coffee strong and dark. Click here to see Lavazza’s great deal.
