1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is equipped with Ecovacs’ upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system, which offers improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system is equipped with dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan a space that is up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more accurate mapping, faster response time, and higher cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with an alternating mopping mat made of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mop. During my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just over a second and then got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able to navigate the corners and edges of my rooms, and also create “Zambani patterns” across the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.
The X2 Omni is as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. It takes only a few minutes to snap the dock into place, plug it in, and pair with your Wi-Fi network at home. Then, you’re able to launch the app and begin with your first task of cleaning. I was able to modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping, reworking the placement of furniture on the wall, and more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The EcoVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line from the company and comes with the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brush for better cleaning than conventional scrubbing. It has YIKO, an artificial language processing technology that is the first of its kind. This allows it to respond to a variety of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, establish cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The T10 Omni’s biggest flaw is that it cannot switch from mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The two modes require you attach and remove mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes but not suitable for people who have a busy schedule.
However, the Deebot Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of the dust we tossed at it on our hardwood floors and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles, removing 99% of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mop has a large docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool mop pads. While Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the world of robot vacuums This model is the first venture into the realm of mopping. It has improved intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the type of surface you’re cleaning. It’s a mid-range robotic cleaner that’s appealing, even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not be realized.
The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and a raised space for sensors. On the other side you’ll find a motorized floorbrush and one side brush that moves dust from the edges to the main path of its’ mouth.’ It’s a bit smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.
Its mapping system lets you create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to get into things (including its charging dock) and isn’t the best in negotiating rug. It was effective in getting pet hair off of the floor. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, but it also has a set of physical buttons located at the base of the. These buttons let you select the cleaning mode, or turn the robot off/on. You can also use these to set no-go zones and view real-time maps. It’s a bit chatty, too, and will let you know what it plans to do next (“start cleaning”) or warn you that something’s wrong (it doesn’t have enough power to charge, for example).

This high-tech model can pick up pet hair, kibble, and other messes with remarkable efficiency. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It comes with a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It’s Wi-Fi-connected and best robot vacuum for hair controlled using the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance requirements monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes that have a mix of hard and carpet floors. However it will require some planning in advance to avoid getting caught on electrical cables, toys or other unintentional obstructions.
In our hardwood floor and kibble tests the robot performed very well and picked up everything from a single grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in just one go. It did have some issues with rugs however, generally, this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large rooms that have floors of different types as well as a mix of pets.
It is a bit pricey but if you’re able to manage the price, this is a great option for those who wish to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to tackle the most difficult spills or dirt. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.
This budget-friendly model from a well-known upstart brand is the cheapest model we’ve ever tested and provides an exceptional value for the price. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm that isn’t equipped with room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than other models on this list. However it’s still able get under furniture and into corners and its mopping mode was very effective in our testing and was able to pick up pet hair and other debris easily.
5. Shark iQ
Shark’s iQ may not be as sturdy however, it’s better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It cleans floors that are bare more thoroughly and does a good job on carpets with a low pile, and it uses smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It can be positioned to a specific area, and has a suite of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you pause and resume the cleaning process and is perfect for homes with pets.
Its self cleaning brushroll prevents knots and holds up to 30 day’s worth of dirt. It has a set of angled side brushes that can reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, allergens and dander.
This vacuum feels solid and well-constructed, and it works with a smartphone app that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning sessions in advance. The app allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications for any problems it encounters during its cleaning process. You can also control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don’t own either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary lines.
The iQ does a good job of cleaning floors and doing a fair job with shaggy and low-pile carpet, but it doesn’t have the same degree of autonomy as our top picks. It’s also costly and the cost of recurring use can add up.
