This isn’t a safety risk however it could cause annoyance for some parents. The second issue is that the crotch buckle’s depth may be a bit too deep for small babies and could result in the baby sagging.
The SnugRide from Graco is a great choice for the majority of babies. It can be used by children up to 35 pounds or 2 years old which is typically the limit for infant car seats. The seat has received high ratings in crash tests. This is not surprising. It is light in weight and has simple instructions. It also ranks high in our ease-of-use rating that include how easy it is to set up and adjust the harness.
The Graco SnugRide isn’t as well in other categories, like comfort and quality. The fabric feels more plastic than other infant car seats, and the padding is thin overall.
