The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

For pets that shed fur, a robot vacuum/mop combo is among the top floor cleaning solutions. It can mop and vacuum, and can even dry and clean its own dual mop pads.

It also has the highest suction power of any robot we’ve examined, with 8,000Pa. It also can save maps of your home and set cleaning schedules from its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model is equipped with Ecovacs’ upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that offers better mapping and obstacle avoidance. It uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind you’ll find in self emptying robot vacuum for pet hair-driving vehicles and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub hard spots than conventional mop. During my testing the X2 Omni took just over an hour to wash its pad and get to work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than other models that seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as make a “Zambani pattern” that ran up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water before beginning another cleaning task.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and begin using. Snap the dock into position, plug it in and pair it with your home WiFi network. It takes just about a minute. Then, you can launch the app to start your first cleaning project. I was able to dive into the settings and modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes, which included creating zones that are restricted for sweeping and mopping as well as reworking my wall-mounted furniture layouts, and much more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored high in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal. It also achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you need a powerful combination of vacuuming and mopping look into the EcoVACS Deebot Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line offered by the company and features the brand new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which uses dual-spinning brush for better cleaning than conventional scrubbers. It also has YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing technology that can respond to a variety of voice commands. The ECOVACS App lets you plan your home, make cleaning schedules and modify settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it’s unable to switch from mopping to vacuuming in one go. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads and take them off according to your needs. This is great for most households, but not so for those with busy lives.

The Deebot T10 Omni is a superb robot vacuum that has impressive results in our tests for pet hair. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the debris we threw at it on our hardwood flooring, which is an outstanding performance. It also did a fantastic job with tile and carpet and tile, getting rid of more than 99% of dirt and debris.

This robot vacuum and mop has large docking stations that provides cool water cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L disposable bag that’s simple to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.

The Deebot T10 features an integrated wash tray into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry its mop pads while it is using them. However, it doesn’t have a removable tray, meaning that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first mopping model made by Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It features improved intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the type of surface you’re cleaning. It’s a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner however it doesn’t meet its promise of being an all-in-one solution for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape, sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. On the opposite side you’ll find a motorized floorbrush as well as one side brush that pushes dust away from the edges and into the main path of its’ mouth.’ It’s a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn’t the best at climbing over rugs. It was capable of removing pet hair on floors that were not paved However, during our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of litter, which puts it ahead of any of the most powerful robots we’ve tested.

Although it’s controlled through the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base, which allow you to select a cleaning mode and switch the robot off or on. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones as well as see maps in real-time. It’s a bit chatty too, and will inform you of what it’s planning to do next (“start cleaning”) or even warn you that something is wrong (it isn’t able to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This advanced model collects pet hair, kibble and other particles with top-quality efficiency and maneuvers flawlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle-avoiding technology. It’s Wi-Fi enabled and best controlled through the Neato app, where cleanings can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs be monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large carpet, hard carpet and flooring, however it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by toys, power cords or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

This robot did well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It was able to pick up everything from one rice grain to a variety of dog food pieces with only one sweep. It did have some issues with rugs however, generally this vacuum cleaner is great for large rooms that contain different flooring types as well as a mix of pets.

It’s not cheap however, if you are able to handle the cost it’s a great purchase for those who want to leave their home hands-free to go about other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to take on difficult dirt or spills. It also includes a battery-powered ElectroWall to define the boundaries of the robot.

This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the most affordable we’ve ever tested, and provides exceptional value for money. Its navigation system is based on a very basic random pathing algorithm, and it’s not equipped to map rooms. This renders it less efficient than other models in this list. It’s still able to get under furniture and into the corners. Its mopping mode performed very well in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark’s iQ isn’t as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a fair job on low-pile carpet and uses smart-pathing navigational technology for superior maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific area, and includes a variety of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It also lets you to pause and resume a cleaning session and is perfect for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris and its bagless self-emptying docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be cleaned. It has a set of side brushes that are angled to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens and dander.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It is compatible with an app for smartphones that lets you change the vacuum settings and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app also lets you see the remaining battery life and send notifications via push for any issues it encounters during its cleaning process. You can make use of your voice to control the device using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you don’t have either, you can mark off areas with physical boundary marker strips.

The iQ can do a decent job of cleaning flooring and doing a good job on shaggy and low-pile carpet however it lacks the same degree of autonomy as our top picks. It is also expensive and the cost of recurring use can increase.
