Newest iRobot Roomba Robots

The latest iRobot robots can map your home and make use of their cameras to detect small obstacles like cords, shoes and pet waste. The Combo J9+ automatically fills up its water tank when it goes to mop it is a significant improvement over previous models which required manual emptying and refilling the tanks.

The Roomba S9+

If you’re looking for a high-end robot vacuum that does double duty as a mop, the s9+ is the one. Its suite is built into an elegant new design. It cleans corners and along edges. It maps your home and self-empties.

The s9+ is equipped with powerful motors that can provide 40x more suction3 than previous Irobots. It can also detect carpeted surfaces that trigger Power Boost to deep clean. Its automatic dirt recognition is very accurate and can distinguish the smallest toy or dust particle from each other which prevents the toy from getting stuck.

Once the s9+ gets full of trash, it returns to its dock, and then empty itself by forcefully sucking the contents into its huge bin. This process, which sounds like a jet engine in motion, takes about a minute and can be scheduled through the Irobot application.

A brand new navigational feature known as Imprint Smart Mapping, is the thing that sets this robot apart from its competitors. This technology is advanced and uses sensors to scan the room digitally up to 25 times per second. It lets it map your home more precisely and avoid hitting obstacles. The s9+ also comes with PerfectEdge technology, which allows it to cut close to intricate edges, like the kitchen cabinets that were renovated by Ikea in my house.

The s9+ connects to WiFi easily and is set up quickly, but it could take a few attempts before the app can locate your home. Once it does, the home page and dashboard are simple to navigate. You can select from a variety of functions, including a detailed schedule and mopping preferences.

The s9+ is able to be set to perform one or two passes or you can select “room-size clean,” which balances room size and time to complete the task quicker. It is also possible to alter the level of suction, from Eco for less power to Turbo for more power. It is also possible to program it to vacuum and then mop or to pause mopping before beginning vacuuming. The s9+ bin can be removable unlike other robot vacuums. This allows for simple emptying and cleaning.

The Roomba 675

The Roomba 675 is one of the latest robots from irobot vacuum and mop combo. It’s a low-cost model that is designed to clean your floors and provide wifi connectivity. This feature makes it stand out from other models in this list and is an excellent alternative for those looking for a reliable robot cleaner, but don’t want to spend too much.

The 675 is easy to use and has a simple, straightforward design. It can be controlled by voice assistants or the Irobot application. It is a trademarked 3-stage cleaning system that loosens, lifts and sucks dirt from hard and carpet floors. It is also possible to schedule to clean your home on a weekly basis.

In our lab tests, the 675 scored an overall score of 89.7, which was better than the soft RoboVac G30 and slightly below the iLife V3s Pro (94) and the Shark Ion R85 (96). The 675 was able remove the majority of the debris we dropped however it had a difficult time with larger debris like the sand that was left on carpets with low pile.

Similar to the Roomba 900 series, it comes with dual multi-surface brushes to remove dust and debris from hard floors and carpeting and an additional brush that sweeps edges and corners. It is able to adjust automatically to different surfaces and has cliff sensors which prevent it from falling. It can also detect dirtier surfaces and clean them more thoroughly.

It’s low-profile, and can fit under almost every furniture item. It is also able to maneuver around corners and edges which is where a large-sized vacuum would be a challenge. The 675 can also be recharged and is compatible with the iRobot Home App, which lets you schedule and start cleaning sessions. It can also learn about your cleaning habits and make schedule suggestions based on these preferences. It is compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. You can start cleaning by simply speaking. Pre-orders for the 675 are on sale at a cost of around $450. It will be delivered in the spring of 2020.

The Roomba J9+

The j9+ robot vacuum and mop is the most powerful robot combination. It is designed to thoroughly clean large homes as well as those with pets with care. It features a three-stage system of cleaning, and two rubber brushes that offer excellent debris removal. It also comes with Carpet Boost Technology to lift dirt and pet hair that is embedded, and to tackle deeper carpeting. Its smart Dirt Detective feature utilizes data from previous cleaning missions to determine and prioritize rooms that are dirty. It then adjusts settings like suction power and scrub intensity to give these areas the attention they require.

The Roomba j9+ can also be used in conjunction with iRobot’s Braava jet M6 to mop after the robot vacuums. It is compatible with Amazon Echo devices and other smart home systems, so you can control it via voice commands. It comes with a one-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.

One of the things that sets the j9+ apart from other cleaners is its capacity to empty and refill its own tank. It has a tank for water and a dispenser controlled by a robotic system that can refill itself automatically when the dustbin is full. This is a great time saver since you don’t have to worry about changing the dirty water or emptying the dustbin.

The j9+ comes with the base and docking station along with a set of extra filters including a side brush and an invisible barrier. Place the base or dock in a place where the robot is able to easily access it, away from furniture, walls and cabinets. The iRobot website recommends a spot with four feet of clearance in front, 1.5 feet of clearance on each side, and four feet between the base and any stairs.

We found the j9+ very effective at cleaning bare floors and picking up small debris like pet hair, pet hair, and crumbs. However, it is unable to handle larger debris and has a tendency to stop its cleaning once the dustbin is full. In addition, the j9+’s Dirt Detective feature can be inconsistent, often restricting suction to save energy even when an area needs more attention.

The Braava jet M6

The Braava jet M6 is the most advanced iRobot mopping robot, capable of clean large and multiple spaces exactly like a human. It makes use of Precision Jet Spray to take on dirt, grime,* and kitchen grease with a minimum of effort from you. Its Smart Navigation technology helps it stay out of the way and out of danger when exploring your space. It also comes with an incline detection feature which stops it from falling down steep slopes or down stairs.

The m6 is also capable of identifying your home’s features as it mops, because of Imprint Smart Mapping technology. After cleaning several rooms or one the m6 will generate an outline map that you can customize in the app. After you have labeled the rooms, you can tell the robot to clean the rooms you’ve designated or an entire floor of your home on the days that you want.

As with all iRobot models, you can control the m6 from the iRobot app for Android and iOS, or by using voice commands on your compatible Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device (sold separately). The app lets you create a cleaning schedule, “keep out zones” and much more. The m6 also fits into tight corners or under furniture to make it easier to keep clean the entire area.

The m6 comes with an cleaning pad, a washable wool mop, two paper-toweling pads, a sample of iRobot’s cleaning solution for hard floors, and batteries. It is available in black or white and costs $399 online. The m6 also qualifies for iRobot’s 3-year limited warranty.
